Representatives from Year One dropped off gifts at the Giving Tree
The true mission of Jesus and the spirit of Christmas was evident at Holy Cross Primary School Glenwood this week when Year One students presented gifts they bought for the Kmart Wishing Tree at Blacktown.
The store manager met three representatives from Year One- Arabelle Stennett, Patrick Villiers and Amelia O’Rourke and congratulated them on their generosity towards those in need.
Earlier this term, students made puzzles, packaged them and sold them, to raise money for the gifts. The students then chose gifts and wrapped them in their own art work for children in need this Christmas.
Principal Marina Hardy said that the students’ generous and thoughtful actions reflect the true meaning of Christmas. ‘We are very proud of our young students who have worked to raise money and buy gifts to those who are not as fortunate,’ said Marina.

Congratulations to our students who participated in the Parramatta Diocesan Athletics Carnival last week. There were some great results on the day, many students achieving PBs. Special congratulations and best of luck to Ava L (2nd in 100m and 200m) and Alana T (2nd in discus). π World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation 2025 π Yesterday, our students became true Pilgrims of Hope during this Jubilee Year of Hope, taking part in a mini Creation Pilgrimage around our school. π±πΆββοΈπΆ They spent time giving thanks for the beauty of creation, reflecting on ways to care for our common home, and praying for peace in our world. ππ This pilgrimage was a beautiful chance to be still, listen, and encounter God in creation β a reminder that hope grows when we care for the world and for one another. πΏποΈ

Today a group of our amazing Year 5 students represented our school at the annual Diocesan Education Mass! The mass was held at St Patrickβs Cathedral in Parramatta and was a beautiful occasion for students from all over the Diocese to celebrate their role in the mission of the Church. Our Year 4 students have been hard at work giving back to our local community! β€οΈ Today they spent time making sandwiches for the Greater Western Sydney Vinnies Van. This incredible service provides food and snacks to people in our community who are struggling. A huge thank you to all the wonderful parents who generously donated ingredients and to the four parent volunteers who helped our students make these sandwiches.
