On Sunday the 25th of February, our iHelp (Social Justice) students participated in mass at St John 23rd in Stanhope Gardens.
We had students involved during the mass in many different ways: welcoming the parishioners, reading prayers of the faithful, offertory, taking up the collections and dancing a liturgical movement to our School Song “This Holy Cross”.
We had so much fun sharing our gifts with the parish. After the mass, we held a cake stall outside the church. We all had fun selling the cakes we had made, and using our mathematical skills to work out the change for each sale. We raised an amazing $796.05.
The money raised has been donated to the Pastoral Care Group at St John 23rd Parish. This group spends time with the elderly people within our community, the money will go towards taking these people out and about, ensuring that they're having a wonderful time!
Thank you to our wonderful parents who helped us make delicious cakes and slices for this event and for helping us to sell on the day!
We are looking forward to our next Social Justice initiative so that we can continue a difference to others in our community!

Last Wednesday our Holy Cross team participated at the Blacktown Zone Athletics Carnival. Congratulations to all students who ran, jumped and threw throughout the day. We had some amazing results, many students making finals or placing top 10 in their events. We have some amazing news to share! Huge congratulations to Max and Zac, who both won gold at the 2025 Taekwondo State Championship yesterday! These boys have put in countless hours of hard work and dedication to prepare for this competition. This win is especially sweet for Max, who has taken home the silver medal for the past three years. This year, his determination paid off, and he finally achieved his goal of winning gold! Their hard work and determination are an inspiration to us all.

Our 100 days of Kindergarten was a truly special milestone, kicking off with a heartfelt liturgy that brought all our families together. The air was filled with a sense of excitement and gratitude as we thanked God for our journey so far and the wonderful learning ahead. After the liturgy, the real fun began! Our parents joined us for a fantastic rotation of ten different activities, each designed to be completed ten times. Special thanks and congratulations to our fantastic Kindy teachers and support staff who have worked so tirelessly in nurturing these beautiful children. Our 100 days celebration was an unforgettable experience for everyone involved! π― π

The iHelp Group has been busy sorting out all of the Vinnies Winter Appeal donations from our school community and packing countless snack packs. Some Year 3 and Year 4 iHelp representatives helped deliver the food donations this week to the Vinnies Services Van in Greystanes and the winter woolies to the Vinnies Support Centre in Blacktown. They witnessed dedicated volunteers working hard to help people in need in our community. All your generous donations allows them to do this.
