On Sunday the 25th of February, our iHelp (Social Justice) students participated in mass at St John 23rd in Stanhope Gardens.
We had students involved during the mass in many different ways: welcoming the parishioners, reading prayers of the faithful, offertory, taking up the collections and dancing a liturgical movement to our School Song “This Holy Cross”.
We had so much fun sharing our gifts with the parish. After the mass, we held a cake stall outside the church. We all had fun selling the cakes we had made, and using our mathematical skills to work out the change for each sale. We raised an amazing $796.05.
The money raised has been donated to the Pastoral Care Group at St John 23rd Parish. This group spends time with the elderly people within our community, the money will go towards taking these people out and about, ensuring that they're having a wonderful time!
Thank you to our wonderful parents who helped us make delicious cakes and slices for this event and for helping us to sell on the day!
We are looking forward to our next Social Justice initiative so that we can continue a difference to others in our community!

Congratulations to Madeleine from Year 4 who recently represented her club Sydney Hills Gymnastics at the National Acro Championships. She was part of a trio who came 1st in their balance routine, 4th in their dynamic routine and 1st overall, making them national champions! ππ What a great achievement!

Congratulations to Ava and Alana (Year 4) on their achievements at the Mackillop Athletics Championships yesterday π Alana placed 10th in Junior Discus Ava placed 4th in 100m (just missing out on 3rd by 0.01 seconds!) and 3rd in 200m Ava has now qualified for the Mackillop team and will run in the 200m at the NSWPSSA Athletics Championships event in October ππ

π§¦Socktober Launch 2025 β½οΈ Yesterday, five students from iHelp represented our school at the Catholic Mission Socktober Launch. They joined students from other schools in the Parramatta Diocese and learned about the real challenges of food insecurity and poverty. Socktober is a wonderful initiative that uses the game of soccer and the symbol of a 'sockball' to raise awareness and funds for children in need around the world. This year, the initiative is focusing on supporting communities in Zambia, helping to provide essential resources like food and education. The students are so excited to get involved and "kick goals for good!". Stay tuned to see what our Ihelp group has planned for Socktober 2025 in Term 4.
