On Sunday the 25th of February, our iHelp (Social Justice) students participated in mass at St John 23rd in Stanhope Gardens.
We had students involved during the mass in many different ways: welcoming the parishioners, reading prayers of the faithful, offertory, taking up the collections and dancing a liturgical movement to our School Song “This Holy Cross”.
We had so much fun sharing our gifts with the parish. After the mass, we held a cake stall outside the church. We all had fun selling the cakes we had made, and using our mathematical skills to work out the change for each sale. We raised an amazing $796.05.
The money raised has been donated to the Pastoral Care Group at St John 23rd Parish. This group spends time with the elderly people within our community, the money will go towards taking these people out and about, ensuring that they're having a wonderful time!
Thank you to our wonderful parents who helped us make delicious cakes and slices for this event and for helping us to sell on the day!
We are looking forward to our next Social Justice initiative so that we can continue a difference to others in our community!

🔥 Celebrating Pentecost: Many Tongues, One Heart 🔥 Today, our school community came together to celebrate Pentecost, marking the beautiful moment the Holy Spirit descended like fire, bringing a message that everyone could understand in their own language. At Holy Cross, our classrooms are filled with a vibrant tapestry of backgrounds, cultures, and stories. We speak different languages and come from different walks of life, but today was a powerful reminder that diversity is our strength and faith is our glue. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this celebration of the Eucharist special: The Holy Notes Band and Choir, supported by Mr Lendai, all the readers (especially those students who spoke in their first language), altar servers, IT, and offertory.

Special congratulations to Milana from Year 6 who competed at the NSW School Sport Australian Football Championships as part of the MacKillop AFL team last week 🏉 Milana’s team were crowned champions of the tournament having gone through the whole competition undefeated!!! Congratulations to Imogen from Year 5 on her recent swimming success as she is now off to Nationals!! 🌟 Setting new PBs in all strokes, Imogen competed with the MC senior girls at the NSW PSSA Swimming Carnival. She heads to Melbourne at the end of the year to continue this amazing experience!
