On Sunday the 25th of February, our iHelp (Social Justice) students participated in mass at St John 23rd in Stanhope Gardens.
We had students involved during the mass in many different ways: welcoming the parishioners, reading prayers of the faithful, offertory, taking up the collections and dancing a liturgical movement to our School Song “This Holy Cross”.
We had so much fun sharing our gifts with the parish. After the mass, we held a cake stall outside the church. We all had fun selling the cakes we had made, and using our mathematical skills to work out the change for each sale. We raised an amazing $796.05.
The money raised has been donated to the Pastoral Care Group at St John 23rd Parish. This group spends time with the elderly people within our community, the money will go towards taking these people out and about, ensuring that they're having a wonderful time!
Thank you to our wonderful parents who helped us make delicious cakes and slices for this event and for helping us to sell on the day!
We are looking forward to our next Social Justice initiative so that we can continue a difference to others in our community!

Last Wednesday, Will (Year 2), Louis and Satya (Year 5) completed the CNSW Aquathon at the Des Renford Aquatic Centre, Maroubra πββοΈπββοΈ An aquathon is a multi-sport event combining swimming and running (with a transition). Depending on age division, swim legs vary from 100-300m and run legs vary from 1km-1.8km. Congratulations to Will, Louis and Satya on challenging themselves in this unique and fun event! π

Congratulations to Nandhini and Oviya in Year 5 who have both been selected into the Parramatta Diocesan Girls Tennis team. πΎ They will now trial in February for selection into the MacKillop team.

We are so proud of our Year 4 students who continued their fantastic support for the Great Western Sydney Vinnies Van today! The students successfully prepared a range of 60 fresh sandwiches to donate. These efforts make a tangible difference in our community, helping people who struggle to provide enough food for themselves and their families, or those experiencing homelessness. A massive thank you also goes to Ms. Doherty, who has been an integral and dedicated part of this process since it was first introduced in Term 1. What an incredible example of compassion and service!

A very exciting game of cricket today but unfortunately for our team we were on the losing end by the narrowest of margins π After keeping the opposition to 7/97 we ended our innings at 7/92 losing by just 5 runs. The team did so well the whole way through the competition and should be extremely proud of making it to the Final 6 teams π
