Representatives from Year One dropped off gifts at the Giving Tree
The true mission of Jesus and the spirit of Christmas was evident at Holy Cross Primary School Glenwood this week when Year One students presented gifts they bought for the Kmart Wishing Tree at Blacktown.
The store manager met three representatives from Year One- Arabelle Stennett, Patrick Villiers and Amelia O’Rourke and congratulated them on their generosity towards those in need.
Earlier this term, students made puzzles, packaged them and sold them, to raise money for the gifts. The students then chose gifts and wrapped them in their own art work for children in need this Christmas.
Principal Marina Hardy said that the students’ generous and thoughtful actions reflect the true meaning of Christmas. ‘We are very proud of our young students who have worked to raise money and buy gifts to those who are not as fortunate,’ said Marina.

We want to send the warmest thank you to every family and staff member who contributed to the Jesuit Social Services Christmas Food Drive this year! The response was overwhelming, and some iHelp students were able to deliver two car boots full of essential items to the Ignite Food Store in Emerton. Your donations were immediately placed on the shelves and are now providing comfort and relief to struggling people in our local community. Due to the great volume of donations, we were also able to create extra food hampers for the St Vincent de Paul Society. These hampers have also been collected and distributed to local families in need this Christmas season. Thank you for living out the spirit of giving! ππ08 Dec 2025
