On Sunday the 25th of February, our iHelp (Social Justice) students participated in mass at St John 23rd in Stanhope Gardens.
We had students involved during the mass in many different ways: welcoming the parishioners, reading prayers of the faithful, offertory, taking up the collections and dancing a liturgical movement to our School Song “This Holy Cross”.
We had so much fun sharing our gifts with the parish. After the mass, we held a cake stall outside the church. We all had fun selling the cakes we had made, and using our mathematical skills to work out the change for each sale. We raised an amazing $796.05.
The money raised has been donated to the Pastoral Care Group at St John 23rd Parish. This group spends time with the elderly people within our community, the money will go towards taking these people out and about, ensuring that they're having a wonderful time!
Thank you to our wonderful parents who helped us make delicious cakes and slices for this event and for helping us to sell on the day!
We are looking forward to our next Social Justice initiative so that we can continue a difference to others in our community!

Today these boys played their semi final of the Mark Taylor Shield cricket competition against St Gregoryβs College in Campbelltown π They did their absolute best against a tough opposition and were so close to advancing through to the final! It came down to just 1 wicket in a very exciting finish but we just fell short. They should be extremely proud of their efforts to get to the final four in a knock out competition involving schools from all across Sydney, Wollongong and the Central Coast! Well done boys π

Today Year 6 spent a special day of reflection. Our day commenced with a beautiful prayer allowing the children to reflect on their past years of primary. Laughs were shared as we reflected on special Kindy and Year 1 mementos. The children discussed their feelings and challenges of beginning a new journey in High School. We created an artwork that reflected the Gospel passage 'I am the Light of the World' - Our Graduation Theme.
